Strategic location... comprehensive cargo management capabilities... plus a centralized management system

The 50-acre state-of-the art Mid Atlantic Terminal (MAT) offers a comprehensive range of cargo management services in one strategic location: the Port of Baltimore.

The Port of Baltimore offers excellent access to the prime consumer and manufacturing markets of the Northeast. It's the nearest entry/exit port to Chicago, the hub of the bustling Midwest marketplace. And its central location puts more than a third of the nation's population and industrial plant base within an overnight truck drive.

Flexibility, efficiency, security, and more.
Everything about MAT - from its unique menu of capabilities to its experienced personnel to its secure storage area - make it a first-class terminal facility. And with its advanced information systems, web tracking, and EDI billing, MAT can provide a custom-tailored solution to your toughest supply chain challenges.

MAT's key features include:
  • High frequency sailings to major international markets
  • Dedicated receiving and delivery areas with specialized equipment for handling cars, break bulk cargo, and other heavy equipment
  • Priority berthing for multiple vessels
  • Heavy lift capability, including 250-metric ton mobile crane, and 40-ton container cranes
  • On-site rail service and easy access to nearby interstate highways
  • Warehouse and yard commodity location system
  • On-site U.S. customs station
  • Administration building
  • 120,000 square feet of warehouse space
  • Perimeter fencing, high mast lighting, and closed circuit TV for 24 hour security
MAT has four "sister" terminals in Europe: Zeebrugge, Belgium; Southampton and Liverpool, U.K.; and Kotka, Finland. Like MAT, the "Euro" terminals are owned and operated by Wallenius Wilhelmsen. For more information about Wallenius Wilhelmsen, contact www.2wglobal.com.
